Lompoc City Council Meeting - Day 60
Day 60 - Tuesday 11/20/07
We had the great honor of meeting Tym’s life-saving heroes last night as they were presented with Awards of Merit at the Lompoc City Council Meeting. Firefighter John Steffens and Airmen Brian Capps and Eric Voyles were presented awards at the meeting. Steven McCort was on assignment and unfortunately could not be there, but he will receive his well deserved award as well. We also presented our heroes with gift baskets stuffed with running goodies as well as our love and gratitude.
As expected, everyone we met last night was so awesome. They are truly self-less people who said that their real reward was being able to see Tym and shake his hand. Tym said he was very honored to meet everyone, and he thinks it’s incredible that they saved his life. He said it was very emotional, though you could easily see that in everyone’s eyes.
We also got to meet Christine Nelson who dialed 911, and rode her bike to the finish line where she met with John Steffens. All of their friends and loved ones were also there to show their support. Thank you all so very much! The entire Stark family was so honored to finally meet you.
We wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving!
Love,
The Stark Family

Hi Tym,
It’s a blessing to see how well things are going in your recovery. I was pleasantly surprised to see that you were at the council meeting last night - would have liked to have been there. Keep up the great work in your recovery. Sounds like you are doing quite well.
I hope you and all around you there have a great Thanksgiving.

We just found out about this council meeting today. I wish we had known all of you were coming up. You would have had the Aerospace family support.
I found out from the Lompoc Record that the story will be in the paper on Thursday.
Tym, you look great and I really miss seeing you.

Tym, I was so overwhelmed when you and your family walked into that City Council meeting the other night. You have no idea how badly we (Becky, Betty, Jessie, and myself) needed that. I can see so vividly in my mind that first day out at the Mission and only about two months later to be able to hug you is a miracle. Tym, you are so blessed to have such an incredible family and support system around you! You couldn’t have given us a better end to 2007!
Don’t forget when you’re feeling up to it we all have to finish that last 1/4 mile together out at the Mission! Always finish the race…….Love ya

Glad to hear that you were able to thanks the life-savers in person. It is great that they were there when you needed them.
Continue making such good progress. We are all rooting for you.
