Hi Tym, I stumbled upon your website by way of searching Anoxic Brain Injury. My father had the exact same injury on June 27th - heart stopped due to arrithmea, out for 13 minutes, three shocks later there was a rythm. and now we're in brain injured territory much like yours. i'm very impressed that a year later you're blogging. i'm curious to know your timeline and perspective, as much of what you say and your family says about the recovery peeks and valleys - we are encountering as well. thank you for sharing your story, and congratulations on such an amazing recovery and life.

Great pictures and looks like you all had a wonderful time. Glad to see that Tym is doing so well. The mission is also a great place to visit and we have been there to enjoy it many times. It was nice to see so many people supporting Tym throughout the year and how time has been a great healer and will continue to be on his side as he makes a full recovery. Congrats to John for making the Boston qualifying time. I remember when Tym did the Boston marathon and how excited he was to be there for the most famous of all marathons. That was when Grandpa Hooper was in the hospital April 17-19, 2001 for his brain tumor and look how well he is doing now. Life gives you many challenges to overcome and then we truly appreciate what we now have. Love, Mom (Eva) & Brent

Hi Tym,

I'll be thinking of you this weekend as you "finish" your half marathon - there must be some sort of record here! ;-)

Anyway I hope you enjoy the event and know that we're all still cheering you on as you continue your rehab.

Love,
Peggy

It's hard to believe that it's been a year, Tym! How our Lord has blessed you! I was amazed at how you were able to be at Royal Family Kids Camp again. You were a huge help, by the way! We'll be praying for you, as you "complete" the course. Who knows what memories will surface!!!!
    Joyfully,
Keith and Debra

Hi, Tym.

Sorry I cannot talk my boss into a trip back to California to see you at the marathon. It'd be fun to walk that distance with you. Glad to hear that you are progressing so well. Your Aerospace friends keep thinking about and missing you.
